WEIRD SCIENCE FACT OF THE MONTH

When a flea jumps it can cover a whopping 8 centimeters in one millisecond. That is, in fact, 20X faster than the acceleration of NASA's Space Shuttle. A jumping flea can experience up to 100G while the Space Shuttle experiences only 5G. It is thought that this is made possible by a specialized rubber-like protein that allows the flea to store and release energy like a spring.

Every month, I will put a weird science fact here, just for fun!
